HINESAD Team Visits Precast Facility for African American Heritage Monument

On-Site with the Craft Behind the Memorial

The HINESAD team recently visited the precast production facility where 95 custom panels—each one critical to the composition of the African American Heritage Monument—are taking shape. The monument, currently under construction in Kendleton, Texas, is a signature component of the broader African American Memorial campus commissioned by Fort Bend County.

In collaboration with general contractor SpawGlass and precast partner Enterprise, the visit served as a key milestone to evaluate material quality, craftsmanship, and the refinement of design details at full scale. The monument’s three-story pillars—cast using a custom stone matrix—are engineered to capture and reflect light, allowing the architecture to shift with the time of day and environmental conditions.

This quality-control review underscores HINESAD’s commitment to excellence at every phase—from concept to fabrication. As the monument progresses, it promises to become not just a physical structure, but a spatial vessel for memory, storytelling, and cultural recognition in the region.

Stay tuned for further updates as the project reaches key construction milestones.
