Leading by Design: Daimian Hines Receives Chapter Ambassador Award
Honored by Houston NOMA for Advancing Equity, Advocacy, and Community
At the annual year-end celebration and awards gala, Daimian Hines, Principal of HINESAD, was honored with the Chapter Ambassador Award by Houston NOMA. The award recognizes his ongoing commitment to community, advocacy, and amplifying the mission of both NOMA National and the Houston NOMA chapter.
Through mentorship, public engagement, and design leadership, Hines has actively championed the role of architecture in advancing equity and shaping policy. His efforts have helped broaden the visibility of Black designers in civic and cultural work—both locally and nationally.
At the annual end or year celebration and awards gala, Daimian Hines was presented with the Chapter Ambassador Award for his commitment to community and amplifying NOMA and Houston NOMA’s mission.
"For me, this work isn’t extracurricular—it’s essential,” Hines shared. “Advancing equity in architecture means engaging with systems, shaping policy, and making space for new voices. Design is just one part of the work. Listening and showing up—that’s leadership too.”
