HINESAD Wins 2024 World Architecture Design Award

Global Recognition for the African American Memorial at Bates M. Allen Park

HINESAD has been named a winner of the 46th Cycle of the World Architecture Awards (10+5+X) for its design of the African American Memorial at Bates M. Allen Park in Kendleton, Texas.

The project was selected by both the international jury and World Architecture Community members in the Architect – Designed category, celebrating its conceptual clarity, cultural resonance, and spatial sensitivity. The memorial was recognized as a powerful architectural response to historical erasure, honoring the lives of the enslaved, the legacy of convict leasing, and the enduring contributions of African American communities in Fort Bend County.

This international honor affirms HINESAD’s commitment to designing spaces that hold memory, center justice, and offer places for collective reflection and healing.
